Spring Home Maintenance Checklist for the Motivated Seller

EscrowProZ

It’s springtime and the real estate market is heating up. If you’re planning on selling your home during the peak spring and summer months, check out the following list of tasks that will help you prepare your home for potential buyers and the warmer weather:

Evict the pests

Few things will turn off potential buyers more than a pest problem. Before putting your home on the market, check it for signs of termite, rodent, or cockroach infestations. Examine the yard for evidence of anthills, bee hives, or wasps. If you notice anything irregular, call a reliable pest control company to address the issue.

Check your sprinklers

Good curb appeal is key when attracting potential buyers to your home, so your landscaping must look its best. Make sure that your grass and outdoor plants are getting the water they need by checking your sprinklers. Turn on the sprinklers in each section of your yard and confirm that each of the sprinkler heads are working properly and spraying in the right direction. If you notice a problem, call a landscaper to fix it, or if you’re handy, do it yourself

.

Inspect your Air Conditioner

Before the weather heats up, give your air-conditioning unit a check-up to ensure that it will keep your home cool during upcoming open houses. Replace the filter, inspect hose connections for leaks, and make sure the drain pans are unclogged. If you spot any problems, call a professional.
